Qui es-tu ? 

Bonjour et bienvenue. Je m'appelle Judith. Je suis née et j'ai grandi à Berne, en Suisse. DJ, conservatrice de Sonic Journey et artiste artisanale. Ayant grandi dans une maison pleine de musique, j'ai chanté, dansé et commencé à trouver des disques dès mon plus jeune âge et j'en suis toujours très amoureuse. C'est une histoire sans fin ! Je suis curieuse de toutes sortes de sons et j'adore créer des voyages sonores - des voyages dans le temps et l'espace pour les auditeurs et les danseurs. Depuis 2005, j'invite des artistes qui m'inspirent à partager leur enthousiasme pour la musique et la danse à Patchwork Night. Créer un foyer pour les mélomanes et les danseurs me tient à cœur. En 2019, j'ai créé une compilation "Patchwork" pour Rush Hour. Un hommage à certains de mes artistes contemporains préférés. Après ma cassette sur “The Trilogy Tapes - TTT” en 2014 et celle sur “Altered Soul Experiment” en 2019 je viens de sortir ma troisième Mixtape officielle: "A Sanctuary" sur mon label Patchwork avec de la nouvelle musique exclusive de 21 artistes différents - un projet dont je suis très fière et ravie !

Dans quel mood étais-tu lorsque tu as enregistré ce podcast ? ‍

Encore deux jours pour enregistrer - allons-y - l'humeur.  Il s'agit d'une "infusion de carburant positif de printemps pourpre", un mélange joyeux pour démarrer tout ce BLOOM.

Quel serait le moment idéal pour l’écouter ?

Quels sont les artistes / labels que tu as sélectionnés et pourquoi ?

La musique qui me fait du bien. Des artistes qui m'inspirent. Quelques-uns de mes derniers ajouts, mais aussi des disques que j'ai depuis un certain temps. J'aime les morceaux qui sont "chez eux" dans différents univers musicaux. Des hybrides qui réunissent tout cela. L'ancien et le nouveau. L'électronique et l'organique.  Il y a définitivement une influence de Prince, des synthés, des années 80, 90 et du Dub.

‍Quel est ton créneau idéal lorsque tu joues et pourquoi ? ‍

Tous - il y a un art dans chaque créneau.  Plus nous avons de temps, plus nous pouvons voyager ! 

Quelles sont tes prochaines actualités à venir ?

Un vinyle de 7 pouces, Patchwork Sampler, sortira très bientôt sur Rush Hour Records. J'ai hâte de jouer au Wonderland à Paris le 21 avril. En mai, je jouerai deux fois à Londres : célébration des 15 ans d'Eglo Records au Corsica Studios le 5 mai, et quelque chose de très spécial : un B2B avec le maestro Dego de 2000Black au Gala Festival au Peckham Rye Park. En juin, je commencerai l'été au MOGA Festival à Lisbonne le 1er juin. Merci et à très vite, j'espère !

She has lit up the dance floors of the most prestigious venues, from Rainbow Disco Club to Dekmantel, as well as Panorama Bar and De School.

Who are you ?

Hello and welcome. My name is Judith. I am born and raised in Bern, Switzerland. DJ, Sonic Journey Curator and Handcrafting Artist. I grew up in a home filled with music. Either my dad was playing the piano or there were some records playing. Clifford Jordan and Cedar Walton were friends of the family and would hang out at our home when they were on tour. This had a big impact on me: I sang, danced, dressed up and started finding records from a young age and still am very much in love with it. Its a never ending story! I am curious about all kinds of sounds and adore creating sound travels - journeys through time and space for listeners and dancers. I’ve been inviting artists that inspire me to share the enthusiasm for music and dancing with others at Patchwork Night since 2005. Creating a home for music lovers and dancers means a lot to me. In 2019 I put together a „Patchwork“ Compilation for Rush Hour. An homage to some of my favorite contemporary artists. After my tape for „The Trilogy Tapes - TTT“ in 2014 and the one on „Altered Soul Experiment“ in 2019 I’ve just released my third official Mixtape: „A Sanctuary“ on my Label Patchwork with all exclusive new music from 21 different artists - a project I am very proud of and happy about. Its dedicated to the unity and empowerment of the independent artists.

Which artists/labels did you select and why ?

Music that uplifts me. Artists who inspire me. Some of my recent finds but also records I’ve had for a while. I love tracks that feel „at home“ in different musical worlds. Hybrids bringing it all together. The old and the new. The electronic and the organic. There’s definitively an influence of Prince, Synths, 80s, 90s and Dub.

All of them - there’s an art in every slot. The more time we have - the more we can travel!

A 7-inch vinyl, Patchwork Sampler, will be out very soon on Rush Hour Records. I’m looking forward to play at Wonderland in Paris on the 21st of April. In May, I’ll be playing in London twice: celebrating 15 years of Eglo Records at Corsica Studios the May 5th, and something very special: a B2B with the maestro Dego of 2000Black at Gala Festival in Peckham Rye Park. In June I’ll kick off summer at Moga Festival in Lisbon on June the 1st. Merci! À très vite !
